Tell me more about….Hilary Kinnair

Hilary is one of the founders of i2B, she and Philip Tompkinson founded the company back in 1999.  Over that time she has seen a lot of changes both personally and in the business.  We asked her a couple of questions to gain a bit of an insight as to what makes her get out of bed in the morning in her own words….

What is your current position in i2B?

Business Director

Can you give a brief overview of what you do in your work?

Tell the world about i2B,  keep our current clients happy and try to establish relationships with new clients.

How long have you been in this position?

18 years (now that is scary when i see it wrote down)

What would you say most motivates you to do what you do?

I love the variety of my job – they do say it is the spice of life! As no two days are the same and because of this i can honestly say i learn something new every day.

What are the goals you most want to accomplish in your work?

Help i2B be a world recognised brand and to add to the suite of i2B applications – we have some ideas in mind!
In your work or personal life what have you found to be the greatest challenge, and how did you overcome this?

Networking – I am not a naturally confident person so to go into a room filled with strangers and ooze confidence filled me with dread! To overcome this wasn’t easy and I cant say for certain that i have totally mastered “owning” the room. I now realise that we are all only human and that it is normal to be nervous  – however it is good to talk!

 

When you are not working what can you be found doing?

Walking my dog, going to the gym, eating out (hence the reason i go to the gym), the theatre (favourite show is blood brothers), the cinema (love the IMAX!) and planning my next holiday!

What are your personal goals?

Be happy with what you have.

What one piece of advice do you wish you were given when you first embarked on a career in IT?

Be confident – you know more than you think!

If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would you be, and why?

Bryant Park New York – its my happy place!

To grow our presence in Australia – exciting times.
