Tell me more about -Phil Tompkinson

Phil Tompkinson is our Technical Director and co-founder of i2B back in 1999. We asked him a couple of questions to gain a bit of an insight as to what makes him tick….

What is your current position in i2B?

Technical Director

Can you give a brief overview of what you do in your work?

Work with our ever-expanding customer base to decide on what we should be including in our road maps. Working with the development team to make it all happen.

What would you say most motivates you to do what you do?

I honestly love my job. I have a fantastic team and a great relationship with our customers and suppliers. Every day is different and there’s always something new to learn.

What are the goals you most want to accomplish in your work?

Forever trying to achieve the impossible and achieve perfection in i2B’s software.

What have you found to be the greatest challenge in your work or personal life, and how did you overcome this?

Trying not to micro-manage. It’s so difficult when the company is your own.

When you are not working what can you be found doing?

Spending time with my wonderful wife, family, and friends.

What are your personal goals?

See my family be the happiest they can be.

What one piece of advice do you wish you were given when you first embarked on a career in IT?

You will never, ever know it all. Listen and learn.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would you be, and why?

Aruba or Las Vegas. Maybe in Las Vegas on my way to Aruba.
